Here is an update on the construction projects for Abbotsford Middle School, Auguston Traditional Elementary, and Margaret Stenersen Elementary schools. 

Abbotsford Middle School Addition

This addition project is a ministry funded ‘fast track’ project with an accelerated schedule. The two-storey addition consists of 8 classrooms. The construction management contractor mobilized on site shortly after the building permit was issued by the city early January and we are targeting substantial completion for this upcoming September!

Thank you to all staff for making sure your site is secure after hours.  When sites are properly secured and armed at the end of the day, it eliminates unnecessary late-night callouts to Paladin Security and District Staff, saving the district time and money.

Welcome to the 2024/25 School Year!

As we approach the start of the new school year on September 3rd, the Abbotsford School District is excited to welcome over 20,000 students and nearly 3,000 dedicated staff members back to our schools.

In a continued commitment to supporting the educational success and cultural identity of Indigenous students, the Abbotsford School District has signed the 2025-2030 Enhancement Agreement for Indigenous Students. The signing took place during a luncheon event on June 17, 2024, attended by representatives from the Semáth First Nation, Mathxwí First Nation, Fraser Valley Métis Association, the Abbotsford Board of Education, and district leaders, staff, and students.
