Water Conservation

Water is our world’s most precious resource and here in BC we are privileged to have easy access to an abundance of clean water. That being said we are not immune to water shortages as we saw in the summer of 2015. The conscientious and efficient use of our water resources will help to ensure the continued availability of clean water reserves for the future. The Abbotsford School District seeks to conserve water in the following ways:

  • The use of low flow faucets, toilets and urinals
  • Limited watering of sports fields in the summer months
  • Water filtration ponds and bio swales at some of our schools
  • Hand watering of community gardens

For those teachers looking for ways to incorporate water conservation into their lessons there are many resources available, two of which are:
