The Facilities Departments services the entire Abbotsford School District through seven service departments:

Department Management Team

Director, Facilities & Transportation – Dale Churchill, AScT
Responsible for mandate of the Facilities & Transportation Department, participating in the District Executive Management Committee, planning (strategic, corporate, capital, land use), management of the District Emergency Plan, engineering design and budgeting, project management (major capital projects), utilities management and frontline supervisor for the Plumbing department.

Ass’t Director, Facilities & Transportation – Bob Mainman, C. Tech., GSC
Responsible for the administration and implementation of the District’s minor capital program including facility renovations and project manager for major capital project as assigned, assisting the Director on long term facilities planning and major capital program and frontline supervisor for the Electronics department.

Manager, Structural & Grounds – Al Plantinga
Responsible for the delivering building maintenance (preventative, predictive and emergency) repairs, grounds maintenance, building security and minor renovation services (District funded, external-funded and fee-for-service) in the areas of Carpentry, Grounds, Cabinet Shop and Welding departments.

Manager, Mechanical & Electrical, Josh Currie
Responsible for building maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs and equipment upgrades in the areas of electrical, electronics, mechanical (HVAC), Building Automation (DDC) and plumbing.

Manager, Custodial & Administration – Kelly Plastow
Responsible for delivering a clean and orderly environment for learning, including custodial cleaning, waste and recycling management, community use/rental of schools, carpet and floor care.  Assisting the Director with the capital plan, long term facilities planning and with school catchment analysis and enrolment projections.

Manager, Transportation – Ron Gregoire
Responsible for the planning, implementing, operating and monitoring of daily transportation of students to/from school, extra-curricular bus trips and maintenance of District vehicle fleet including buses. Responsible the day to day transportation of students for school and extra-curricular 

Manager, Energy & Environmental Sustainability – Julianne Pickrell
Responsible for the planning, implementing, operating, monitoring /reporting and promoting of the District’s energy management and sustainability programs, including awareness and best practices training at District and school levels. Has frontline supervision for the Mechanical (HVAC) and Building Automation (DDC) Environmental system departments including monitoring District’s gas and electrical consumption.
